BID EUCHRE | If you enjoy Euchre, you'll have double the pleasure playing Bid Euchre, using two Euchre decks (9 thru Ace). There is no kitty, and the power to determine trump is literally in your hand. Players bid to declare how many tricks they think they can take. After playing a few games, Players are delighted at the challenge that Bid Euchre presents. So try your hand on the 3rd Tuesday of each Month at 1:30 p.m.
Please RSVP

DUPLICATE BRIDGE | Duplicate bridge is the most widely used variation of contract bridge. Every hand, whether strong or weak, is played in competition with others playing the identical cards. The object of play is not to amass the largest number of points, but rather to bid and play the hands better than all the other pairs who play them.
Our six month schedule starts in May and we play the 3rd Thursday of the Month at 1:00 p.m.
|
EUCHRE GROUP | Look forward to exercising our brains, honing our social skills and being tempted with coffee and goodies!! Euchre is an easy to learn, trick-taking, truimp-calling card game. It's played with a deck of 24 standard playing cards, using 9s through to the Aces. We meet in Group Member's homes, on the 4th Wednesday of each Month at 1:30 p.m. We hope you will join us for a good game of cards and total enjoyment.
|
GENEALOGY | Collaborating with others is one of the most cherished aspects of genealogy. Working and sharing with like-minded folks, while conducting your family history research, can be both helpful and rewarding. Join us at 1:30 p.m., on the 3rd Wednesday of each Month. Meetings are in the Solarium Room at the Huntsville Public Library, where we have free access to Ancestry.com. We welcome new and experienced Family Tree Hunters.

MEXICAN TRAIN | Mexican Train is a modern version of Dominoes. The object is to play your tiles onto one or more chains, emanating from a central hub and to use all your tiles before anyone else. Because of its simplicity and interaction, it can be played by nearly anyone. We welcome New Players to join in an afternoon of exhilarating fun, on the 4th Tuesday of each Month at 1:30 p.m.
|
NEEDLES & HOOKS | The name, “Needles & Hooks” encompasses what we actually do. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, weaving, needlepoint, crewelwork, embroidery, rug hooking . . . the list goes on. If it involves a needle and/or hook it will fit in here. Join us on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome and we hope we can help each other either by learning new skills or by solving old problems.
|
PADDLING GROUP | The Paddling Group meets once a month from May to October for a paddle on one of our local rivers/lakes. Members are invited to participate by paddling either a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board and are required to outfit their paddling craft with the appropriate safety gear (whistle, bailing device, extra paddle, 50” throw rope and a personal floatation device - to be worn by every paddler while on the water) and to ensure the safe transportation of their craft to and from the designated put-in locations. Each outing lasts between 3 and 4 hours with a shore lunch part way through the trip. The purpose of the Paddling Group is to offer members the opportunity to enhance their paddling skills while exploring a variety of local waterways and developing a community of like-minded paddlers.
Owing to minimal participation during our previously scheduled outings, a decision regarding the future of the Paddling Group for 2025 will be made during that calendar year.

Yet another big THANKS to all of our members who so quickly answered our recent call for presenters to fill our 2024-25 Travel Group calendar. Our PROBUS year’s itinerary is now packed with exciting adventures that will transport us to the four corners of the globe (although, does a sphere actually have corners?!?).

So, put on your Bush Hat mates and toss another shrimp on the barby as we go down under on March 24th.
