How to Protect Yourself from Being a Victim of Cybercrime

Most of us have heard about friends and family who have been scammed and in some cases have lost large sums of money. Scammers are preying on vulnerable populations, one of which is seniors, and use sophisticated techniques. At our next meeting we will have a presentation from the Cybercrime Investigations Team at the Ontario Provincial Police. Detective Sergeant Steve Hudson (or another officer, if Steve is unavailable) will be presenting on recent trends and what each of us can do to combat this crime in an effort to reduce our chances of becoming a victim.
